Donald R. Boyd's Obituary
Donald Roy Boyd, resident of Covington, LA passed away January 17, 2017. The beloved husband of Martha Fricke Boyd of 64 years. He was born in Birmingham, AL on February 14, 1932 to the late Roy and Ethel Boyd. He was preceded in death by his eldest son Mitchell Boyd and sister Faye Boyd. He is survived by wife Martha Boyd, sister Helen Boyd, sons John "Matthew" Boyd and Michael Boyd along with 4 grandchildren Addie, Bryan, Jackson and Andrew Boyd.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Korean war as a sonar operator. Graduate of Howard College (Samford University), employed by Perelli Wire and Cable. Upon retirement he joined his wife in real estate. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Friday from 1:00 PM until service time.
A private interment in Mandeville Cemetery at a later date.
