To the Wheelock family and Nell, I send my deepest sympathy, as does the entire Turner family in Mantachie.
Diane, Nell and I played together as little girls and then as teenagers as our families lived across the street from each other as we were growing up in Mantachie, Mississippi. She and I shared the same birthday (even the same year). I have so many happy memories of our times together: movies; acting out the "Greatest Show On Earth" swinging on a make-shift trapeze in her barn loft; our going to see Elvis Presley's first performance at the fair in Tupelo, MS; birthday parties; Diane stepping on a rusty nail; learning to ride the bicycle together. What fun times!
Then after high school and college we went our separate ways. What an amazing lady she became! It's wonderful to read of all her accomplishments; especially a loving husband and precious children and grandchildren. To view her picture gives my heart a thrill. She looked so much like her mom. How I wish I could be there today.
God bless each of you as you heal and treasure the memories you have of your loving wife, mom, grandmother and sister.
