Diane M. Dumas Murray's Obituary
Diane M. Murray, was born on July 24, 1947 in New Orleans, LA to the late Leo Dumas and Thelma Robertson Dumas. Diane was called to her eternal home on May 17, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Thelma Dumas; her grandparents, Acie and Stella Robertson, and Albert and Albertine Dumas; sister, Leola Marie Dumas and brother, Robert Leo Dumas.
Diane attended Chahta-Ima High School. She later completed and obtained her GED through the St. Tammany Parish Adult Education Program. Shortly after receiving her GED, Diane began working at Southeast Louisiana State Hospital in the dietary division. Diane worked at Southeast Hospital for more than fifteen years. After leaving Southeast Hospital, Diane began working as a care giver. She worked at various group homes caring for special needs adults. Diane was very compassionate. She would bring members of the group home who did not have family to spend the holidays with, she included them in her family’s holiday celebrations. Including them brought her such joy.
In late 1999, Diane decided to move from Lacombe, LA where she spent her childhood and most of her adult life to San Antonio, TX to be closer to her two children. After arriving in San Antonio, Diane worked side-by-side with Lela running her restaurant. Diane worked with her daughter for sixteen years. Diane was an active member of True Vine Baptist Church. Even though she always called Lacombe home, Diane grew to love San Antonio and made many friends.
Diane was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. Her family was very dear to her. Diane really loved attending social functions with her family and friends. Everyone who knew her, knew she was the life of the party. Whatever event she attended, she always filled the room with laughter and everyone enjoyed having a good time with her.
She is survived by her two children, Lela Montana-Nauls and Willie Mark Montana; grandchildren, Larinso Dial, Devin, Kelsie, Myles, Chaz and Brianna Montana; great grandchildren, Adriane Orth, Justin, Reagan, Kamden Dial and Torian Crumedy; granddaughter-in-law, Carla Dial; sister, Valerie Gousman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and many close friends who will miss her dearly.
With sincere appreciation, the family would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of love, visits, telephone calls, messages, and acts of kindness extended to us during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA. Interment will follow the service as Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
