Dewey "Woody" Richerson's Obituary
God saw you breathlessly labored and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and softly whispered "come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A beautiful and compassionate heart stopped beating, your loving hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
On Monday, July 29, 2024 Dewey "Woody" Richerson lost his battle with cancer. He was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on December 26, 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Frances Richerson; and brother, John Richerson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sharp Richerson; his sister Martha Ann Osborne; his daughter, Richelle Dufour and his son, Jeremy Richerson; and his grandchildren Sam, Jesse, Max, and Ben Dufour; Savannah and Emma Richerson.
Woody worked in the Marine Industry as a port engineer "chasing the boats" until he retired in 2019. He never met a stranger, enjoyed working in his barn and in his yard and most of all a cold Select 55 at the end of a long day. He loved wearing his blue and gold, shaking his cow-bell, and supporting the St. Paul's Wolves cheering for his grandsons in their sporting events. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
