Dewey "Randy" Harper's Obituary
Dewey “Randy” Harper passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the age of 65.
Son of the late Winifred Raye Lackey Harper and Donald Victor Harper. He is survived by one brother, Donald “Bart” Harper; two sisters, Karren Sharp (Larry Sharp, Jr.) and Kelle Jenkins (Michael Jenkins); four nephews, David Clay Shook, Benton Cole Shook, Alex Cody Shook and Christopher Michael Jenkins; two nieces, Emily Jenkins Searle and Abigail Karren Jenkins; six great-nephews, Benton, Jr., Bill, Ethan, Elliott, Joey and Jordan; and one great-niece, Lilly May.
Mr. Harper was a native of Knoxville, TN and a resident of Bush, LA. He graduated from Sam Houston University with a BS Degree and was a Glazer Design Specialist. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed reading his Bible, traveling, watching the Texas Rangers and NASCAR.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 24479 Highway 40, Bush, LA 70431 on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow in Galloway Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Harper to be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
