Derek Albert Feske's Obituary
Derek Albert Feske passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 25, 2023 after his courageous 5 year battle with cancer and surrounded by his family. Derek was 40 years young and was born on December 8, 1982 in Covington, LA. He was the loving son to Ronald Joseph Feske.
After Derek graduated high school in 2002, he began Aviation school at Bristow Aviation in Lafayette, LA and completed his schooling at Vortex Aviation in Long Beach, MS.
After graduating in Aviation, Derek pursued a career working for his family-owned business with his father at The Salvage Store in Folsom, LA and managing various other locations as well for over 20 years.
In his later years, the businessman in Derek pursued his own endeavor and created a business named, Ameribox Dumpsters and Portable Storage Units.
In 2017, Derek met his beloved wife, Cara Wildey Feske in Covington, LA. They were married on February 12, 2021 and lovingly raising their two children, Paisley and Finnley Martin.
Those that knew Derek closely, knew him for his sense of humor and his ability to light up any room he walked into. He loved those that were close to him, endlessly. He enjoyed cruising in his boat, fishing, spending time with friends and family, relaxing at the Tchefuncte riverside watching boats go by. His biggest passion was spoiling his two daughters and dog, Pixie.
Derek was preceded in death by Mary Raush Feske (Grandmother) and William “Bill” Feske Sr. (Grandfather). He is survived by his wife, Cara Wildey Feske (Paisley and Finnley), Ronald Joseph Feske (Mandy), his sister Angela Haak (Dalton)(Harper and Sailor), his mother-in-law and father-in-law Tom and Christy Wildey, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Brad and Amanda Wildey(Marley) and sister-in-law Lexie Wildey.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 Noon until Mass time.
