Denise Nichols Hammer's Obituary
Denise Nichols-Hammer, born on September 1, 1953, in Texas, entered her eternal rest on December 23, 2025. A devoted wife to her late husband, Richard Allen Hammer, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2016, Denise was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Meagan Leda Schwaner, who passed away on February 4, 2023.
Denise is survived by her four children, Mark Hammer, Julie Hammer-Strawn, Christopher Hammer, and Stephen Hammer. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Paige Hammer-Donovan, Rachael Gill, Amanda Watson, and Jordan Jung, and she was also great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren.
Having spent most of her adult life in Southeast Louisiana, Denise raised her family in their beloved home in Waldheim, LA. She was a faithful Christian whose life was a testament to her unwavering trust in the Bible. Denise loved animals, especially her cherished cats, calling them all “her kitties”.
Denise found joy in taking long walks with her husband along the Mandeville lakefront, a cherished memory that reflects their deep bond. Now, she rejoices in the loving arms of Richard, her family, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Her family invites all who knew and loved Denise to celebrate her life and the impact she made on those around her. In our hearts, Denise will always be remembered as a devoted mother, a beloved grandmother, and a faithful servant of Christ.
