David Bruce Scalfano's Obituary
David Bruce Scalfano of Mandeville, LA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the age of 63.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Myrick Scalfano; his two children Justin Matthew Scalfano (Jenny Borgeson); and Janina Adelle Scalfano; grandchild Caden Borgeson; sisters Juanita Barton and Francine Allen; brother, Joseph Scalfano and numerous loving relatives.
He is preceded in death by his beloved father Frank Peter Scalfano, mother Eunice Bodin Scalfano, and sister Leah Rose Scalfano.
David grew up in Alexandria, LA and attended college at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and later started his own company, Scalfano Engineering. He and Kathy married in 1981 and settled in Mandeville to raise their children. He was loving, honest, kind and caring to all. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching football, traveling, golfing, kayaking, biking, cooking and cars. David also liked to design and build.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville, LA 70471, on Saturday, August 5th, 2017. Visitation is from 10am – 11am and the service is from 11am – 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to create a scholarship in memory of David Scalfano to be made to Louisiana Tech University. This scholarship will be awarded to an engineering student struggling financially to complete their studies. Make a check payable to Louisiana Tech University Foundation, PO Box 3183, Ruston, LA 71272. In the memo line or in correspondence, please indicate that the check is in memory of David Scalfano.
