David loved nursing. He loved helping patients and his fellow nurses as an Operations Coordinator at Slidell Memorial Hospital. The staff at SMH, to him, was his other family. He always felt that by helping people, especially those who shared his diabetes issues, that he was paying it forward and returning the love and care he received from the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston where his struggles began. Although David’s health concerns were many, he found commitment and a purposeful life in his work.
An avid LSU Tiger and Star Wars fan, David loved and shared much of his life with his Pugs, Pugsy and Obie, the sweetest and most loyal two friends anyone could have.
