David Lee Owens' Obituary
David Lee Owens of Mandeville passed away Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021 at the age of 66. He was born on June 4, 1954 in Monroe, Louisiana to Oswald J. Owens and Marie Colvin Owens.
He is survived by his adored wife of 38 years Linda Jenkins Owens, his daughter Laura Owens Silvan (Chad Sr.) and 7 grandchildren Dominick, Jaylynn, Arianna, Deshanique, Chad Jr., De’Nika and Mikayla. Also survived by his loving sister Linda Owens Chauvin (Danny) and brother John Colvin Owens (Lanette). He had 4 nieces and a nephew Jennifer Galloway, Claire Sanders, Ozzie Owens, Ayla Owens, and Kati Turley. As well as 6 greats, Scott and Shelby Galloway, Colby and Jaden Sanders and Jackson and Parker Owens
He is preceded in death by his parents Ozzie and Marie Owens.
David was the founder and proud owner of Mandeville Cab Company for 15 years. He loved being on the road, especially early in the morning. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a wonderful cook but his true passion was writing, singing, and playing guitar. David even recorded his own album. He was a kind, generous person who will be missed by all that knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
With COVID-19, restrictions social distancing and face mask are required to attend services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of David Owens may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The American Heart Association.
