David Kent Kornahrens' Obituary
David Kent Kornahrens, 69, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with lung cancer and COPD.
Born on February 20, 1957, David was someone who loved deeply, worked hard, and never missed the chance to tell a cheesy dad joke — whether anyone was ready for it or not. He took tremendous pride in his career and was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and genuine passion for what he did.
Outside of work, David found his greatest joy spending time with family, especially tackling projects with his son and making memories with his grandchildren. He loved deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, where he felt most at peace with open water ahead of him and a fishing pole in hand.
Though miles apart, David also loved keeping up with his daughter Kimberly’s exciting career in New York City and took great pride in following along with her adventures and accomplishments from afar.
David shared an especially close bond with his brother, Keith, who passed away just one day prior on May 13, 2026. The two shared a lifelong friendship built on laughter, fishing trips, hunting, and countless memories together. David affectionately called Keith “broski,” a nickname that reflected their humor and unbreakable bond. Their family finds comfort in knowing they are together once again.
David was happiest surrounded by the people he loved most, often arriving with treats for the grandchildren and pets alike. Whether through snacks, surprises, or making everyone laugh, he had a way of bringing joy wherever he went.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Renee Kornahrens and Travis Lee Mulally; his daughter-in-law, Caitlin Graham Desroche; and his beloved grandchildren, Evie Grace Mulally and Colton Thomas Mulally, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life.
David will be remembered for his humor, resilience, generosity, and the many memories he created with those closest to him. His family takes comfort knowing his laughter and stories will continue to live on through everyone who loved him.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal funeral or service will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived.
