Alana, I recently heard about David's illness and passing. I was speechless for a moment. I know several years have passed but I just remember him being so healthy and full of life. I think of you guys from time to time with such an appreciation not only for the help and friendship you gave me but for the wonderful example you and David were of a truly loving Christian couple. I can't help but see him in my mind as a giant teddy bear, a tall and strong, yet gentle, loving daddy to a tiny, timid, precious little Kindergartener named Fayth and her sweet big sister Tane. How blessed you were to have had each other.
This has to have been a tough and unexpected road for all of you to walk, and I'm sorry that it's come so soon for you, but I have no doubt that our loving God is forever by your side and David is safely in His care. Know that you and the girls are very much in my thoughts and prayers.
I am praying for your entire family. God has received another angel.
My prayers are with all of you. David & his mom are having a joyous reunion now. Your families faith is inspiring. We love you all.
May the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the certain hope of the resurrection in Jesus give you peace in the future. I miss you David. Love, Randy Little
Sending our love to each of you and will continue to pray for you in the days, weeks and months ahead. David was blessed to have such an amazing family and now he is even more blessed to be able to sit at Jesus feet.
I am deeply saddened with your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My favorite memory of David is when I locked him in the trunk in their garage. The trunk was to become a toy box later. At davids request he climbed in the trunk and I fastened the latches on each side which were rusted, a short time later David said ok let me out to which I agreed. However the rusted latches didn't agree. I could not begin to budge those latches which closed with ease. There was a hole if my memory is right about the size of a silver dollar or bigger in the middle of the latches where the lock was supposed to snap into. So I tell David I can't get them open! David said come on let me out. I said I really can't open them. So here's David with his mouth up to that little hole saying Charles go tell my Mom. I said no several times as I used to be afraid of his mom who truly was a wonderful lady. Finally I agreed and told her. Mom had to use a claw hammer to pry them open. She later thanked me as it was in the summer and the hot garage. David was truly a fantastic friend with an equally fantastic family. Alana and girls my heart goes out to you today and in my prayers to come. I've expressed what kind of friend he was so I can't even imagine what a great husband and dad he was! I want you to let me know if there is anything I can help you with. As always I love each member of th Holbrook family and share with you your loss.
Elana, Fayth, Tonee Ira and I love you guys and you encourage us with your strength and faith. We were blessed to know David and see the faithful God through a faithful David. You are in our Prayers.
We will miss the celebration but we will be there in spirit.
Love Ira & Canta
