There will never be another David. He exemplified the true definition of friendship. Always there to lend a helping hand and offer sage advice. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed! Life is so much better because of him.
Oh Captain, My Captain! From one of my favorite movies that always made me think of one of my favorite persons. I had no illusions that I was really David’s favorite “Darlin’”, but he sure made you feel like you were! Everyone was his “best friend” and I believe that with David that was really possible! He loved his friends and was loved by his friends like no other. Fly high David, fly proud, you done good. Love you always, your ONLY Loie.

David's pure love of everything aviation was so much fun to experience - showing off the Cub, sharing American stories, explaining the 737. Since meeting my dad on that one trip so many years ago he became a member of our family, and vice versa. I'm very sad and sending love to Jan and everyone else that was lucky enough to also be a part of that. I'll be thinking of David as continues to smile and soar, two things he was very very good at.

Dancing at your wedding as a young teen, catching pink eye while at your Bellevue house, dancing with you at my wedding, talking college football, having you attend Ethan’s 1st bday party, texting you just weeks ago with pictures of Emery playing with Flappy the Elephant… Uncle David, you were such a role model and important person to me throughout so many ages and stages of life. You are already so very missed, but you will never be forgotten.

I was one of the lucky ones he touched and I have truly lost a dear friend, crew mate, and mentor. God Speed David as you head West. How can one like you be forgotten, you’ve been added to my prayer list.
