Darwin Clyde Cedarleaf's Obituary
Darwin Clyde Cedarleaf passed away at peace in Slidell, LA (June 23, 1925-July 26, 2009). He was born, raised, and married in St. Paul, Minnesota and was the loving husband of 57 years and is survived by Inez. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Cedarleaf.
His values and principles will live through his children Kay McKnight and husband, Cleve, Carol Chapman and husband, Thomas, Jan Kellett, Calvin Cedarleaf and wife, Mary Pat, and Russell Cedarleaf and wife, Angel. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Ryan and Ashley McKnight, Jeffrey and Bryan Chapman, Kacie and Kyle Kellett, Jennifer Cedarleaf, Keith and Jourdan Fincher, and Taylor Cedarleaf.
He was a WWII veteran serving in France and Germany with the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart with two clusters. He received a Masters in Geology from the Univ. of Minnesota. He was employed by Chevron for 34 years and retired as Chief Geologist. His long career there lead him to reside in Albuquerque, NM, Oklahoma City, OK, Bakersfield, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Slidell, LA.
His great love of the lake place in Minnesota is a dear gift that he shared with his entire family. His kind-heartedness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, July 30,2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
