Darrin Jude Ford's Obituary
Darrin Jude Ford passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the age of 48. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 7, 1974, to Victor R. Ford III and Diane Zitzmann Ford.
He is survived by his loving mother, Diane Zitzmann Ford; his siblings, Renee Ford Johnson (John) and Christopher R. Ford (Keri); his aunt and uncles, Cynthia and Jim Garrett and Frederick J. Zitzmann, Jr.; his niece, Kirsten Ford Needham (Mason); and his four nephews, Colby Ford, Corey, Ryan, and Mark Johnson; and numerous cousins and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Reynolds Ford III; his grandparents, Frederick J. Zitzmann, Sr. and Edith Wichterich Zitzmann of New Orleans, Victor Reynolds Ford, Jr. of New Orleans and Elvira Manieri Ford of Bay St. Louis, MS.
Darrin was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville. He attended R.E.T.S. Technical College and received a Certificate in Electronics. He also received a Degree in Information Technology from Kaplan University, where he was on several Dean’s Lists. He worked at Gallaghers 527 in Mandeville as a server/expeditor; he also worked at Antoine’s Restaurant in New Orleans as a waiter for eight years. He was creative and had a passion for music and art. He began playing the drums in elementary school following in the footsteps of his late great grandfather Henry C. Wichterich. As a young adult he continued to play drums with his friends and had several gigs. He also created his own music beats. He constantly worked to perfect his art skills and was interested in many different forms of art, such as making vinyl designs for stickers and t-shirts; acrylic pour painting on cups, coasters, planters, canvases, drumheads, and skateboards; and most recently, working with various types of wood to create charcuterie boards and live edge wood shelves and tables with acrylic incorporations.
He will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Catholic Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
