Danny Joseph Stokes, Sr.'s Obituary
Daniel Joseph Stokes, Sr. passed away at his home on Sunday, November 4, 2007.
Danny, 51, was born January 22, 1956 to the late Samuel Joseph Stokes Jr. and Miriam Schoen Stokes. A lifelong resident of Covington, he was a graduate of St.Paul’s High School and owner of Stokes Real Estate, Inc. Danny was an accomplished musician and former owner of The Contemporary Music Store chain. He spent 8 memorable years as manager and bass player for the well known local band Flite. Prior to the onset of his illness, Danny was active in the community and a friend to all. He was an accomplished chef and loved to cook for everyone. Danny was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Danny will be dearly missed by his four sons; Daniel Joseph Stokes, Jr., Schoen Matthew Stokes, Tyler Ware Stokes, and Timothy William Stokes along with their mother, Delores Schurtz Stokes. He was a beloved brother of Miriam Catherine Scarbrough, Baton Rouge, Samuel Joseph Stokes III, New York, Bonnie Louise Stokes, Covington, Sandra Stokes Mitchell, Baton Rouge, and Stephen Joseph Stokes, Covington.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at 2:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time. Internment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
