Daniel Lewis Potts, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
Beloved husband of 37 years to Kathleen Mahaffey Potts; loving father to Daniel L. Potts, Jr., Kelly J. Potts and Lorraine Box (Melvin); and grandfather to Mark, Melvin, Jr., Jorda and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kate Hartsell Potts; his father, James F. Potts; and his sister Marie Jones.
Age 68 years, he was a native of Baltimore, MD and a resident of Covington, LA for most of his life. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Covington Fire Department for some 50 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3:00 PM. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday will begin at 1:00 PM.
Interment with Military Graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 16 will follow services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.
