Daniel "Danny" Joseph Chauvin's Obituary
Daniel “Danny” Joseph Chauvin, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Mandeville, Louisiana on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Danny was born in Houma, Louisiana on November 15, 1947, to Doris Josephine Giroir Chauvin of Bayou Black, LA and Russell Joseph Chauvin of Paradis, LA.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 24 wonderful years, Linda Owens Chauvin; three children and their spouses, David Charles Chauvin (Charley), William Russell Chauvin (Claire), and Jenny Chauvin Salario (Ryan) as well as two stepdaughters, Jennifer V. Galloway and Claire V. Sanders (Stanley). Danny has four granddaughters, Emily Chauvin, Colby Sanders, Shelby Galloway and Adelle Chauvin; three grandsons, Scott Galloway, Jaden Sanders and Daniel Chauvin; two great grandchildren, Brayden and Alanni; and several nieces and nephews. The eldest of five sons, he is survived by three brothers David Chauvin (Iris), Dean Chauvin (Debbie) and Don Chauvin (Jennifer). Danny also leaves behind his sweet dog, Sam. Danny was preceded in death by his loving parents and brother, Darryl Chauvin.
Danny spent his last days restoring antique furniture, reading, and talking about his children. He also enjoyed watching birds in his backyard with his wife. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University and was a Veteran of the Air Force Reserve.
A Celebration of Danny’s life will be held at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 until service time.
