Donna Deloach
I just read the post from Lisa Darden and I remember that night that Dan and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning helping a friend meet a ridiculous deadline. But we did it.
I too was a co-worker of Dan's at EDS in Dallas, TX. He was my first real supervisor and a great friend. My favorite story about Dan is that one weekend I was going to drive 2 hours North to see my parents for the weekend. It was at the end of a pay period, and I had less than $10 in my pocket and my checking account till Monday. Dan got wind that I had no cash and was going on the road and did not like that at all. I kept telling him I was okay, I had credit cards for gas, didn't need anymore cash and it was only 2 hours away. There was nothing I could say to convince him that I was fine. He marched me over to the ATM, withdrew $200 and gave it to me. I didn't want to take it but he insisted. I took and and returned it Monday morning. What a guy.
Many happy memories of Dan. Lots of laughter. He taught me a lot as well. Thank you for your guidance and friendship.
