Dale W. Huffman Jr.'s Obituary
Dale W. Huffman, Jr. was born on September 15, 1950, in Pineville, LA and passed away on July 16, 2022 in Covington, LA at the age of 71.
Dale was a native of Metairie, LA and resided in Folsom, LA for the past 36 years in the home he and his wife of 42 years built together and raised his children in.
As a teen, Dale boxed at Delta Playground, and his love for boxing continued throughout his life. He enjoyed watching and attending boxing matches, and if you sat too close to him, you might catch a right hand! He loved singing karaoke with his friends, and spending time with his family, whom he was fiercely protective over. He was very knowledgeable about horses, owned many through the years, and was a licensed trainer. He enjoyed watching westerns and horse races and loved to tell stories and make people laugh.
Dale’s greatest joy of all was being with his grandchildren, especially watching them ride horses, play sports, or hunting and fishing with them.
Dale is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Margie Haik Huffman; his children, Dale Huffman (Shelly), Cara Huffman, Sharla Huffman, Duke Huffman (Chessica), Cody Huffman (Jené), and Brittany H. Talley (Will); and his grandchildren, Katlin, Daniel, Justin, Brandon, Jacob, Austin, Sydney, Dakota, Cody, Jayce, Ava, Tommy, Aaron, Gunner, Ethan, and Adelai. He is also survived by his best friends, Henry and Joette Pelitire; special childhood friends, Terry and Dickie Pullen; Brothers in law, Sisters in law; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Terry Richard; sister, Cherie; brother, Wayne; brother-in-law, Joel Haik; and one grandson, Dale.
Pallbearers: Duke Huffman, Cody Huffman Sr., Will Talley, Pookie Huffman, Jason Haik, Cody Huffman, Jr., Jessie Haik and Brad Johnston.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dickie Pullen, Terry Pullen, Henry Pelitire, Ronnie Haik, Larry Haik, and Billy Castay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service in Mizell Cemetery, 84085 Bozey Mizell Drive, Bogalusa, LA 70427. Tim Hines of Church of Christ will be officiating the funeral service.
