I am so sorry to hear of Coach Buchert's passing! I first met Coach Buchert when I played football in Wentwood (Kenner). I have always remembered him and the kindness and leadership he shared. Many years later, I was a policeman in Mandeville and working at the football game when Coach Buchert approached me and asked if I remembered him. I was honored that he remembered me and of course I remembered him. We talked many times at those games and I will never forget him and that huge smile. What a great man he was! May God bless him and the entire family.
