Cynthia Pendergrast Dufour's Obituary
Cynthia Ann Pendergrast Dufour, following a courageous six year-long battle with breast cancer & Alzheimer’s, has left us peacefully surrounded by family to be with our heavenly Father on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at the age of 71.
Cynthia was born in Lambert, MS on October 16th, 1950 to Glynn Douglas Pendergrast Sr. and Mabel Atrell Davis Pendergrast and has been a lifelong resident in the Covington area.
Cynthia is survived by her loving & caring husband of thirty-five years, military veteran, Kenneth Leon Dufour, her daughter whom she loved and cherished so dearly, Melissa Ann Pitts Morgan, son-in-law Mark Joseph Morgan, daughter Kendell Dufour, her sister Shelia Maureen Pendergrast Jourdan, brother Glynn Douglas Pendergrast, Jr. (Billie Rose Sharp Pendergrast). Cynthia was also blessed with two grandchildren, Matthew Donovan Morgan and Mason James Morgan, who she absolutely adored and always spoke so proudly of to everyone. She’s also survived by her two nieces, Suzanne Stewart & Sheyenne Jourdan, and one nephew, Scott Jourdan.
She was a parishioner of Saint Anselm Catholic Church of Madisonville where she was recognized for her leadership and dedicated service to the church and was proudly ordained as a Eucharistic Minister on May 1, 2016.
We are all extremely proud of her accomplishment later in life graduating from the Charity School of Nursing with an RN degree. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and sister and was kind to everyone she met. She spent a lifetime serving God & others along with her special kind of gentle love. Cynthia loved going to dinner & a movie and shopping with her daughter and sister on ladies’ night out. Although Cynthia has now been chosen to be with the Lord, she will forever live on in each and every one of us who had the privilege to know the kind and precious angel she has now become.
