Connie and I were friends for nearly 30 years. I enjoyed her calm and sense of humor. She embodied "a life well lived". I'll surely miss her and extend my condolences to my friends Amy and Bill and all the family.

Connie Davis will be remembered in Ponchatoula as a great art teacher and tennis player, starting the art program at PHS in the early 1970s. A few of us were fortunate to be in her very first high school art classes. She maintained high expectations for all of her students, and enabled a few of us to attend a 1 week LA state summer art camp held at LA Tech in Ruston as a result of her extensive statewide network of contacts in art and design. The first ever Art Award from PHS was made in the Class of 1975. With her leadership in art, many of her students found a path into careers or hobbies in art and design. Our very best thoughts are with her children Sarah, Bill and Amy and their families as we remember Connie for her contributions made during a full life lived well as a true artist. Matt Mathes
