Robin, Valerie, and Mary Jane,
I am on FB so rarely, and so just saw that Aunt Connie passed away last week. Please accept our deepest sympathy at your loss. I feel like I found a treasure when I found you, and your mom was the icing on the cake - she is found in the dictionary under the definition of lady! My regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with her as she is indeed a treasure. Please know our prayers are with you during this sad time.

CONNIE WAS ALWAYS FULL OF CHARM AND GRACE. VERY GIVING OF HERSELF.
SHE STARTED THE SAMUEL PLIMSOLL CHAPTER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE. WE HAD VERY WONDERFUL MEETINGS IN THE DINING ROOM OF THE PLIMSOLL CLUB. WE SHARED MANY LAUGHS CONCERNING ENTERTAINING BRITISH SHIPS OFFICERS AND CREWS. DEAREST CONNIE COULD ALWAYS SEE THE FUNNY SIDE OF LIFE. SHE POSSESSED GREAT HUMOUR. HER TELLING OF HER FIRST MEETING WITH GEOFF AT NEW ORLEANS AIRPORT WAS A HOOT. THEY SHARED SUCH HAPPINESS TOGETHER. I RECALL THEIR DELIGHTFUL WEDDING AND RECEPTION.
CONNIE WAS SO VERY PROUD OF HER THREE GIRLS AND GRANDCHILDREN AND ENTIRE FAMILY. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.

The best story Connie every told (and she told it many times) shows what a Mother Hen she was. It was when Mary Jane was a teenager, and her boyfriend parked his pickup on the grass in front of the house in Hahnville, and yelled at the top of his voice "Yo, Mary!" But Mary Jane did not appear at the front door - Connie did, to give him a lesson in manners.

Connie was a good, beautiful lady. She was a light in my life. I will miss her greatly.

My sincerest sympathy and condolences is extended to Val, Robin and Mary Jane and your family, in this time of sadness. I may have only known your mother for a short while, but she made a lasting impression on me. There are very few people in this world who exhibited more grace and dignity then she did. She was always a true pleasure and joy to be around and to visit with. And no one could tell a story like she could! She was such a real Lady and she will be missed.

Our families grew up together as neighbors in Hahnville, LA. "Miss Connie" was a wonderful mother to her three daughters and at times, to my sisters and I, as we spent many days playing together in their home.
