Constance "Connie" Delaune Petticrew's Obituary
With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Constance “Connie” Petticrew, who earned her heavenly peace on December 1, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished beyond measure. She was 75 years old, born in New Orleans, LA, on June 15, 1950.
A devoted and loyal wife of almost 55 years, she is survived by her husband, Norman Petticrew. She is also survived by her two daughters, Angela “Angel” Despaux (Frankie Harelson) and Julie Tomlinson; her five grandchildren, Ken Jr., Alli, Olivia, Isabella "Izzy", and Aubrey; and bonus grandson, Frankie Harelson Jr.; also survived by her siblings, Wanda, Becky, and James, as well as many beloved in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes Marie Gros Delaune and Douglas Ohmar Delaune; and siblings Ricardo “Ricky”, Mercedes “Mercy”, and Cynthia.
From the beginning, her purpose in life was clear: to be grateful for what she had and to love her family fiercely and unconditionally. A devoted wife, mother, and adoring grandmother, she poured her heart into every moment spent with her grandchildren. They were her greatest joy, her proudest accomplishment, and she never let a day pass without making sure they knew how deeply they were loved.
Even as she bravely faced cancer, her optimism, humor, and unwavering strength remained her trademark. She met each challenge with a smile, a laugh, or a witty joke. She always brought light into the room rather than taking any away. Her positivity was infectious, and she lifted everyone around her, even in the toughest moments.
Connie was the true embodiment of love, resilience, and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and memories that will continue to comfort those who loved her so dearly.
We rejoice knowing she has been welcomed into the arms of Heaven, her spirit soaring free and her beautiful smile shining brighter than ever.
