One day many years ago I received a call from Connie and Cliff asking if I would take a boat ride with them. I accepted and found myself staring up at a monster dredge boat destroying the bottom of Lake Pontchartrain. After an explanation by them about the overall devastation being caused they requested as their representative on the Police Jury that a resolution be passed banning shell dredging in the Lake. The rest is history and all the credit goes to Connie and Cliff for planting that initial seed which mushroomed and saved our Lake. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family. Terry Hand
My prayers are with friends and family of Connie Achee Glockner. We should all be able to learn from Connie for the years of her selfless dedication to the conservation of nature. While I did not personally know her, I want to personally take this moment to thank her.

Bonnie & I will miss her friendly face at the Thursday Night dinners of the Mandeville gathering. She always brought laughter and happiness to the group.
Connie will be greatly missed by all I am so fortunate to have been a part of the family and around Connie she had a beautiful soul. My greatest memories of Connie for when we were young we would take a box of salt out and go to her daddy‘s garden and eat his tomatoes off the vine and he would get so mad and then we would run and hide and finish off our tomato because our thought was they gonna be eaten anyway. Also another memory was when I go spend the night or a couple of days up there in the country with them Connie would have to sing and dance and I’ll never forget her favorite song was a White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation and she would just sing and smile and dance up a storm to that song. Then the best memory is when I was 15 years old and going on a hayride in Mandeville and I wanted my legs shaved and my mother wouldn’t let me that young so why ask Connie to ask her and Connie did and Connie said Aunt Bozo That boy can I rub Linda’s legs and then Harry we got to shave him and my mother yelled he better not be rubbing my babies legs and may just swollen because I wanted my leg shaved well Connie won out I got my leg shaved and I went to the hayride. There are so many wonderful memories with her young and old one of the best slumber parties we ever had was when Connie gay but I love her and will deeply miss her. God rest and she is now at peace and out of pain. And I now have another angel in heaven to watch over me.
