On Thursday May 18 this world lost a good and gracious man. Colin Joseph Mayne was born on March 20, 1925. He was the loving husband of Katherine (Katie) Wallace Mayne for 72 years. He served in WWII in the US Army Air Corps where Read Obituary
Sterling and I will remember Mr. C.J. as a very nice person who loved being surrounded by his family. It was always a pleasure when we got to visit with him and Mrs. Katie when they were at Jim and Charlotte's house in Violet, LA. We are saddened by this news.

He was always be Uncle C.J. or "Great Uncle C.J." when we had to be formal(usually at family reunions trying properly explain all the family relations). It was with great sorrow I heard of his passing, and I will miss him greatly. My humble and heartfelt sympathies to Aunt Katie and all of the Mayne family.

I have known the Mayne Bros since High School. "Dad's" influence has always been a part of our friendships. Not only the athletic ability and service to our country and communities , but the kindness and noble bearing of these men truly reflects the substance of their father. Johnny often travelled long distances, and over a terrain of true concern, to be by Dad's side as often as possible. I also know that all of the other family members attended to him and reveled in his presence and jovial demeanor, as their true patriarch. Grief and mourning are only natural at times of great loss. However, the loving spirit, unfettered positive energy and pure force of nature that was contained in Colin Mayne's heart and soul will pass to his family as strength of character, and allow them to carry on, as true testaments to his time on Earth.
