Dear Allen Family , My sympathies go out to you in this time of loss and grief. Working with Clark over the last 10 years was a wonderful experience. Clark was always the first one out of the boat to check out the marsh or a pond and his attitude of “well, let’s just go see” inspired me throughout the years. Clark was so smart and also very practical; a rare combination and one that found me many times pestering him with all kinds of questions. Clark had many professional attributes, but his personal determination and integrity where the characteristics I most admired. I was very fond of Clark and will miss him.

TO: The Family of Clark Allen.
I'm deeply saddened over the loss of Clark. I had the pleasure of working with Clark on several projects over the last several years.
On a personal note, one of the most enjoyable memories was eating at a crawfish boil with Clark. We really did have a good time and Clark was no rookie at piling up the crawfish shucks. I will think of him often.
May the LORD bring peace and comfort to you. May he replace the grief and anguish with solace, warm memories and healing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you following the loss of your son and brother. It was my honor and pleasure to have worked with Clark, he was an extraordinary engineer and his intensity and passion challenged me to work harder. His honest approach and courage in confronting problems that others did not want deal with in the complex field of coastal restoration were always greatly appreciated. I offer my deepest condolences regarding the passing of Clark. I have many fond memories of Clark and working with him over the past 10 years. One in particular is during our numerous interagency field inspections people would often ask how deep the water was or if there were oysters present. The next thing you know, there would be a splash and Clark was in the water swimming to get the answers.
Clark's brilliance, attentiveness to detail, genuine interest in exploring challenging issues, kind heartedness, and desire to be true to one's self was impressive and truly inspiring.
He will be missed and I will keep his family and friends in my prayers.
