Christian Marion Johnson Jr.'s Obituary
Christian Marion Johnson, Jr. passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the age of 95. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and has been a resident of Covington for the past 54 years. A WWII naval veteran, he was a financial accountant in life and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.
He is the loving husband of the late Doris Cecilia Mayne Johnson, father of one daughter, Caroline Johnson and five sons, Wayne, Raymond, John, Conrad and Guy Johnson. He was pre-deceased by his five siblings, Bernard Johnson, Dolores Robinson, Marie Johnson Apffel, Yvonne Mauer and Thelma Dufourc. He is survived by his children, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend mass on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, LA at 10:00 AM followed by burial in Barker-McManus Cemetery, 79407 Lee Road, Covington, LA. A wake will be held at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
