I only met Bubba a few times at racing events here in California, but was struck by his generosity and friendliness. He was a valued member of our group whenever and wherever he showed up and he will be missed. Condolences to Boogie and the rest of the family.
Boogie: Life can be cruel. Loosing an offspring is particularly cruel. But Patti says that thing happen for a reason. Hopefully you will come to know that it was meant to be. With our deepest condolences, the Prietos are for you in this time of need.
Boogie, As you are aware, Bubba & I spent lots of time together in the past several years. I was with him at George's party, the night before he went in the hospital last week. My brother, Robbie took his last photo that night.
He helped me immensely with my car at various cackle events and shows, from Covington, Tennessee, Bowling Green to Bakersfield. Bubba was the consummate pit crew guy! He was indispensible and a great cook! Who is gonna feed you now? [GRIN]
He & you towed my car to Bakersfield. He cooked red beans in my pit for all the guys who had never tasted them. I observed his pit duties with you at Bonneville. Without Bubba's help, I don't think you would be in the 200 MPH Club?
He was always friendly, helpful and competent. Bubba was a year older than my youngest daughter, Bethany.
Boogie, my old friend, I am so sorry. Glenn
The world lost a great man on Wednesday. Drag Racing lost a great racer, friend, and cook. He was a joy to hang out with. RIP Bubba.
I didn't know Bubba well but the time I had around him was nothing but fun. Now he's up there making his world class red beans and rice for all the racers who went before him. RIP big guy.
Boogie.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care, my friend.
