Charles “Charlie” Ingram was a veteran of the National Guard. Serving his country was something he was so very proud of. He worked tirelessly supporting local, state and National candidates running for political office. His family believes he missed his true calling by never running for political office. He believed in his political convictions and defended them to no avail. I guess you could say one of his hobbies was following politics. He not only enjoyed politics he also found great pleasure helping anyone who needed it; which is why he was an active member of the service organization Kiwanis International (Dawn Busters Metairie Chapter). There he served his community through volunteering at various charities and even becoming a foster parent. He never met a stranger and anyone that knew him can attest to that. Giving back and helping others look was his motto for life. Charlie also enjoyed socializing with family, friends and various groups. One of those social groups was the Krewe of Caesar in Metairie. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing, singing, traveling, his New Orleans Saints and of course helping anyone in need. Being a general contractor came in handy as he would always show up at family and friends homes to lend a hand on any project. You could find him whistling and singing pretty much anytime of the day. Charlie was an incurable optimist who made a conscious decision not to dwell on the negative. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
