Silky will be missed by us that hunted with him at our deer camp--He was a dear friend and we will miss him a lot--my two boys Scot and Jason will really miss his cooking at deer camp---Love to you all---Nielsen Cochran
I had met Silky as a drove a bus in Mandeville but never really had a chance to talk with him very much until Hurricane Katrina when I was driving the fuel truck that was keeping the operations centers running throughout the Parish, He was a great guy and will be missed by many and I send my deepest condolences to his family.
I'll never forget the good days at Mandeville High, hiding in the back parking lot trying to smoke a cigarette, or trying to sneak off to Burger King during lunch... Hearing that cheerful laugh and that unforgetable smile saying,''hahaha caught ya!'' He was a fair man, and a truly fair police officer of Mandeville. When we had bad days at school Sulli was there to cheer you up and make you laugh. He'd hang out with us like he was one of us. I remember in my last days of good ole' MHS I was caught being stupid. I was told my life was over and basically beat up by other officers... But when Sulli walked up he pulled them off and said he's a kid and all kids screw up. He was even nice enough to take me from the other cop and put me in his car and got me a burger before he had to bring me in. He was THE best cop in all of Louisiana and he was fair! I'll always miss you and everytime I think of Mandeville High the first thing that comes to mind is OUR buddy, best friend, and just coolest guy ever, Officer Sulli!
