Charles Everett Farmer Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Everett Farmer, Jr., 65, a native of Baton Rouge, and a resident of Madisonville, La., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1960, was a retired painting contractor and studied at both LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a 1978 graduate of Baton Rouge Broadmoor High School where he played trombone in the school’s jazz and marching bands.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Farmer, and his son, Charlie Farmer III, of Pensacola, Fla., his mother Margaret Farmer, his brothers Eric “Bubby” Farmer, Steve “Tott” Farmer (Missy), his sister, Brenda Farmer Luttmann, dearest brother-in-law Wesley Luttmann of Ponchatoula, La., in-laws, Billy Ray and Joanna Hatcher, his sister-in-law Kerri Lynch (Patrick), brother-in-law Keith Vowels (Laraine), sister-in-law Juanita McGrath (Joe). He is also survived by one niece, Mallarey Needham, and nephews; Steven Farmer, Micah Farmer, Caleb Farmer, and Luke Farmer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Farmer Sr. He loved Almighty God with all his heart, enjoyed keeping his yard like a country club golf course, loved spending his time along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Country music was his passion, along with love of old sports cars and college football. He was a huge supporter of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints and was a fantastic baseball player in his youth. Most important to Charlie was the love he had for his wife and son.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 12:00 pm at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery in Springfield, LA.
