Charles LeRoy Demarest's Obituary
Charles LeRoy Demarest, a husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. Born on August 14, 1945, Charles lived a life defined by love, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.
A proud graduate of Cor Jesu High School (now Brother Martin High School) and Loyola University New Orleans, Charles valued education and carried the lessons he learned into every aspect of his life.
Charles was the beloved husband of Kelleen Gordano Demarest, with whom he shared a life of love and partnership. He was a proud and loving father to his son, David Demarest, and his daughter, Remi Demarest.
He is also survived by his brothers, Paul and Arthur Demarest, and his sister, Holly Demarest Grotzinger.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents, Angel Mancini Demarest and LeRoy Demarest.
Known for his sharp mind, signature dry wit, and adventurous spirit, Charles had a knack for making others laugh with his clever humor. He found joy in traveling and exploring the beauty of this country.
Charles will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
