My dad was more than a man—he was a steady light, a quiet strength that held our world together. He didn’t need many words to show his love; it was there in the way he stood by us, in the way he cared, in the way he made life feel safe.
Some of my most cherished memories are of him near the water. Fishing wasn’t just something he loved, it was where he seemed most at home, when time slowed down and the world grew quiet. He loved the many family gatherings we had throughout the years and always enjoyed BB’s cooking and watching LSU sports.
He taught me more than he probably ever knew—through his strength, his kindness, and the quiet way he lived his life. He was the kind of man who gave without asking, loved without conditions, and stood firm no matter what came his way.
Losing him feels like the tide has gone out, leaving a space that can never truly be filled. But his presence remains—in every memory, in every lesson, in every peaceful moment by the water.
To me, he was not just a father, but a guide, a protector, and a lifelong friend. And though he is no longer here to cast another line or share another quiet moment, his love will stay with me always. The lessons he gave me and the love he shared will stay with me forever. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
Dad I know we will meet again one day, until then tight lines…
P.S. Pop don’t tell BB but I voted you as the boss….
Love Always,
Steve
