Chandler Jeremy Laurent's Obituary
Chandler Jeremy “Donk” Laurent was given life by our Lord Jesus Christ on October 17, 1987 to Madeleine Lefrere Laurent and Jimmy Laurent Sr. He was 26 years old and a lifelong resident of Lacombe, Louisiana. He was called to his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
Chandler developed a passion and natural talent for baseball by following his Dad, older brothers and uncles who all loved the game. He played for several teams, and was ultimately drafted as a Pro Baseball player by the Colorado Rockies in 2009.
Chandler was a friend to everybody who met him. Chandler is survived by his parents, Madeleine and Jimmy Laurent Sr, Jimmy Jr. (Spring), Samuel, Charleton, and Kim; his grandmothers, Helen C. Laurent and Gloria C. Lefrere; nieces and nephews Sophia, Tristan, Charli Lisa, Emmanuel; godchildren, Tristan and Blaize; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Laurent & Shelton A. Lefrere Sr. and his childhood friend, Ethan Cousin.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the services. A wake will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the John Davis Gym, 61100 N. 12th Street, Lacombe, LA 70445 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 28088 Main Street, Lacombe, La. Visitation at church will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be in LaFontaine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Chandler to be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacombe.
