Catherine Cripps Parmley's Obituary
Catherine Cripps Parmley passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Covington, LA. She was born on August 8, 1939 in New Orleans, LA to the late Capt. James E. Cripps and Rita Lapour Cripps.
Catherine was the beloved wife of the late John B. Parmley, MD for 40 years. She was the loving mother of Judith Parmley Kirkwood (Jack), Jennifer Parmley Robinson (Steve), Patricia A.G. Parmley, and the late John Parmley. Catherine was the proud grandmother of Kathryn, Jack, Aimee; Isabelle, Conrad, William, and Annaliese. She was the sister of Rita Cripps Sander (Emile).
Catherine was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, LA in 1957. She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1960. Catherine went on to attend Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia and graduated in 1965. She was a graduate of Holy Cross College Nursing Program in 1983. Catherine worked at Mercy Hospital as a Registered Nurse and Hotel Dieu as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. The highlight of Catherine’s years as a nurse were annual reunions with her nursing classmates and colleagues from her years of service. Catherine was an outgoing and social woman. She never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by those blessed to have known her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St Mary St, Madisonville, LA 70447 on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until Mass time.
