My favorite memories of Aunt Carolyn are the weekend get-togethers at Grandma Munsch's house. Her cheerfulness always lit up the room. She never had an unkind word for anyone and I think of her as the family peacemaker. Throughout my childhood, she was a regular visitor to our house, always making sure she could help whenever needed.
I remember Aunt Carolyn as the family caretaker. She was the one who stepped up to take care of and protect all her siblings and their spouses as they aged. She handled legal matters, made sure they received the right medical care, and spent endless hours visiting them and shopping for things they needed. When I moved away from New Orleans, I could always count on Aunt Carolyn to keep me posted on all the family news.
I will miss Aunt Carolyn's kindness, cheerfulness, and her profound love of family, and I'm so very glad I had the privilege of being her nephew.
