Carolyn Cucinello Peters' Obituary
Carolyn Cucinello Peters passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 24, 2023.
She was preceded in death by loving parents, Frank and Irene Cucinello, and her daughter, Karen Kay Peters. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jerry Peters; her daughters, Kelly Peters Saunier and Tammy Peters Weil (Bill); grandchildren Jake, Courtney, Brett Roblez, and Brooke Saunier; brother, Frank M. Cucinello, Jr. and his wife, Donna; sister, Marie Cucinello Meyers, and husband, Roy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends.
She is native of New Orleans and was a resident of St. Tammany Parish. She grew up in Jackson Barracks and attended F.T. Nichol’s High School. After high school, she married her best friend and love of her life, Jerry Peters.
Carolyn was a gentle, kind, loving, and compassionate person. Her most prominent love and passions were her family, grandchildren, and puppies, Gracie and Romeo. She was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Cousin, and friend. She was a doting Grandmother. Carolyn never missed a play, band concert, ball game, or performance; she was always there early to cheer on her grandkids as their number one fan! Carolyn crocheted and embroidered blankets and pillows for every new baby in the family. She was a devoted Catholic, enjoyed saying the rosary daily, and was an active member of the Come Lord Jesus Group, where she made prayer blankets to comfort those needing thoughts, prayers, and healing. Carolyn’s kindness and love were unique, pure, and irreplaceable. She will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her gentle spirit and delicate nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again. Carolyn adored and supported her daughters. She was an exceptional caregiver, advocated for her daughter Karen Kay, embraced the challenges, and helped many others with special needs and their families.
