Carolyn Calongne Iennusa's Obituary
Carolyn Dee Calongne Iennusa passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. She was born on November 15, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to the late Edward John Calongne and Leah Iris Calongne. Carolyn was a resident of Madisonville, LA for the past 12 1/2 years.
Carolyn was married to her beloved husband, John Anthony Iennusa, Sr., for 55 years. She was the loving mother of Cheryl Deborah Iennusa and Dr. John A. Iennusa, Jr. (Alyssa). Carolyn was the proud grandmother of Claire, Julia, and Andrew Iennusa. She was the sister of Terry R. Calongne and the late Edward H. “Sonny” Calongne. Carolyn is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her lifelong best friend, Darnell Lucero.
Carolyn was a graduate of Warren Easton Senior High School. She was a devout Catholic and loved reading, working in her garden, and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM. A WAKE will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation on Tuesday will be AT CHURCH from 9:30 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery #1, 5000 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119.
