Carolyn Wideman Ennis' Obituary
Carolyn Wideman Ennis aged 99 passed peacefully to her heavenly home On Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by her three children. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, Charles Ennis, and her father Roscoe Wideman and Mother Mary Dell Adams, all from Eclectic, Al. Cherished mother of Carol Ennis Cook (Ashby Cook) Jeanette Ennis Ross (Jim Ross), and John Charles Ennis. Grandmother of Jeffrey R. Lemmond, Michael C. Lemmond. Great grandmother of Madison Lemmond, Michael R. Lemmond, Charles H. Lemmond, Allie Marie Lemmond, and Elle A. Lemmond.
Carolyn relocated to Washinton, D.C. during World War II serving as secretary to government officers. After the War, high school sweethearts Charles and Carolyn were married. Later they moved to Metairie, LA, with their 3 children. Carolyn worked for the U.S Geological Survey. She volunteered at East Jefferson Hospital and later at Salvation Army. They were active members at Metairie Baptist Church before moving to the Northshore and joined First Baptist Church of Covington. Carolyn also volunteered at the Samaritan Center in Mandeville.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:00 am in The Chapel of First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am. A Reception will follow the Service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Salvation Army and/or The Samaritan Center. E.J.
