Caroline Mae Andersen Bryant's Obituary
Carole Bryant, a resident of Covington, died on Tuesday, November 16th in her home, surrounded by family and friends. She will be deeply and forever missed by her countless relatives and friends.
Born July 26, 1945 in Omaha, NE, she is survived by her beloved children Jon Riley and Robin Monroe of Pearl River, Rebecca and Travas Lala of Madisonville, Melissa Bryant and Jeffery Wetzel of Covington; daughter in law Angela Byers Riley of Ponchatoula; grandchildren Courtney and T.J. Holmes, Ande Riley, Justin Reilly, Trey Reilly, Bailey Reilly, Brianna Riley, Heather Knotts, Dillon Knotts, Mary Riley, Alex Lala, Cody Wetzel, Caden Wetzel, Coryn Wetzel and soon to be born Caralin Wetzel; great grandchildren Conner, Kane and Elizabeth Holmes; mother Dorothy Oakes of Covington, sister Rosanne and Jack Pingitore of Red Bank, NJ, ex husband H.M. "Sonny" Riley of Magee MS and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Andersen of Elkhorn, NE, her daughter Elizabeth Reilly of Prairieville, LA and her ex husband Gene Bryant of Waterloo, NE. Carole graduated from Covington High School in 1963 and attended LSU for a year before settling down with her first husband, Sonny Riley, in the Greater New Orleans area. Carole moved to Nebraska several years later where she was married to her second husband, Gene Bryant, for over 10 years and served on the Yutan Town Council before returning to Louisiana to stay in 1983. She spent time working at the News Banner and St. Tammany Parish Hospital before accepting a job at St. Joseph's Abbey and Seminary College where she retired in May after 14 years of service. Carole loved to read, fish, garden, spend time with her beloved pets, and was an avid football fan. Carole was a member of Covington Presbyterian Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
