Carol Jean Kreihs Tabony's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Jean Kreihs Tabony announce her passing on Thursday, October 17, 2024 in Covington, LA. She was born on July 21, 1934 in New Orleans, LA to the late Albert N. Kreihs and Gertrude Francingues Kreihs. Carol has two loving sisters, Jacqueline Kreihs Tonguis and the late Linda Kreihs Eckert.
She will be forever remembered by her loving children, Mary Claire Bagley, (John), Leslie Susan Tabony, Robin Kay Guidroz, (Jim), David Kreihs Tabony, (Deborah), Rene’ Kreihs Tabony, and Andre’ Kreihs Tabony, (Marie).
Carol was preceded in death by her son, Harry Tabony, and her beloved husband of 33 years, Capt. Wilfred Anthony “Bill” Grusich, Jr. Carol and Bill will be buried together after the service.
Carol was the proud grandmother to Jennifer Bagley Hart (Robby), Brian Nicolas Bagley, Nicole Prejean Bacot, Cary Andrew Prejean, II, (Beth), Dominique Prejean LeBlanc, (Jack), Justin Michael Guidroz (Elaine), Ashley Guidroz Yousufzai (Abu), Ryan Matthew Guidroz, Carley Rene’ Tabony, Katherine Nicole Tabony and Julia Marie Tabony.
Her beloved great-grandchildren include Bradley Catherine Hart, Cecelia Claire Hart, Samuel “Travis” Bacot, II, Spencer “Townes” Bacot, Mila Lynn Prejean, Emma Claire Prejean, Isabella Nicole LeBlanc, Charles Thomas LeBlanc, Tyler Alexander Guidroz, Andrew Richard Guidroz, Caitlin Isabelle Guidroz, Caroline Marie Guidroz, Isla Michelle Yousufzai.
She attended St. Mary’s Dominican High School and College. Besides her family, Carol had a passion for reading, traveling, orchids, soaring pine trees and her birds.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregivers – we so appreciate your care, patience, love and tenderness with our mother. Our deep gratitude to Kirsten Sotheby, Janice Battenburg and Cathy Bradley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433.
