Carol Monahan's Obituary
Carol A. Morabito Monahan died on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at home in Covington, La., where she made her home with her daughters and grandchildren. She was born on Dec. 25, 1946 in Buffalo, the daughter of Letterio and Rose (Tasca) Morabito.
Carol and her family moved to Sunset Bay in the '50s where her family owned and operated the Sunset Inn for more than 30 years. She graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1966 and Bryant and Stratton in 1968. She worked at M&T Bank in Silver Creek, Cliffstar in Dunkirk and prior to her moving to Covington, she worked at the day care center at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Dennis; her grandparents Felice and Concetta Morabito, Pietro and Phillipina Tasca, all her aunts and uncles; and cousins Jason, Joanne, Thomas and Joey. Survivors include her daughters, Dina Monahan and Juanita Ruppert; grandchildren Amber and Ashley Cook, David, Daniel and Thomas Ruppert; her sister Nancy (Herbert) Doeing of Hamburg, NY; and brothers Richard (Carmela) Morabito and Leo (Maureen) Morabito of Silver Creek. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends, especially Joyce Grey.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington, La.
A memorial service will take place in Silver Creek in June 2012.
