Carol Costance Saucier Ericksen's Obituary
Carol Constance Saucier Ericksen passed peacefully at home on Friday, May 15, 2026.
She was the beloved wife of the late Virgil Nels Ericksen, Sr.; loving mother of Virgil
Nels Ericksen, Jr. (Alice) and the late Crystal Ericksen Wilson (David); daughter of the
late Alfred Saucier Jr. and Agnes Saucier. She was a devoted grandmother to Melissa
Ericksen, Christopher Ericksen, Carol Anne Massey, Joshua Wilson, Alexandra
Soelman, Johnathan Ericksen, and Zachary Wilson; and a proud great-grandmother to Colyn Ericksen, Layla Massey, Gianna Ericksen, Carson Massey, Gabriel Ericksen,
Wyatt Soelman, Ryan Massey, Sophia Ericksen, Zachary Wilson Jr., Emery Wilson, Jack Soelman, and Olivia Wilson. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Carol was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city she carried in her heart
throughout her life. She often shared fond memories of spending time with her beloved grandmother at the family-owned Friendly Bar in downtown New Orleans and cherished the vibrant sights and spirit of the city she called home.
She met the love of her life, Virgil, and knew instantly he was the one. Soon after, they married and began their life together in Alaska while Virgil was stationed there. After his service, they returned to Louisiana, where they raised their two children and built a life rooted in hard work, family, and faith. Together they founded Ericksen Machine and Tool, a business that reflected their dedication and determination.
In retirement, Carol and Virgil settled in Folsom, Louisiana, where she found great joy and peace. She loved sitting on her porch, taking in the beauty around her and enjoying the quiet moments of life surrounded by family.
Carol was a spirited and strong-willed woman whose determination and work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She loved deeply, cared fiercely for her family, and gave endlessly of herself to those she loved. Her strength, love, and unwavering devotion will be remembered always.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Archdiocese of New Orleans
Schools in honor of Carol’s years of service as a Sunday school teacher.
