Carmen Marion (Keys) Baham's Obituary
BAHAM, Carmen Marion (Keys), age 96, of Madisonville, Louisiana passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Carmen, or “Meme” as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a lifelong member of
St. Anselm Catholic Church.
Carmen was born February 15, 1926, in Madisonville, LA to the late William and Rita Keys. She was one of five children, William, Jr., Althea “T.O.” Clark, Calvin, Milton, Regina, and her honorary brother Chester P. Keys, all who preceded her in death.
Carmen married the late Henry Louis Baham, III, and the couple remained married for more than 50 years. While married, Carmen and Henry built their lives and family in Madisonville, where they raised their nine children. She was a retired food service worker for the St. Tammany Parish School Board, first at Madisonville Jr. High School and then at Madisonville Elementary School, where she retired with over 27 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Rita Keys, her husband Henry Louis Baham, III, three sons Michael Paul, Henry Louis, IV, Eric Anthony, and daughter Jeanette Rita and all her siblings.
Carmen leaves to cherish her loving memory four daughters, Phyllis A. Marshall (New Orleans, LA), Carmen D. Baham (Madisonville, LA), Melinda S. Baham (Orange, TX,) and Jill M. Mosby (Orange, TX); one son Mark J. Baham (Sacramento, CA), one daughter-in-law Lucy Baham (Sacramento, CA) and one son-in-law Donald Mosby (Orange, TX); 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Carmen will be laid to rest Thursday, February 2, 2023. The service will be held at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St Mary Street, Madisonville, LA with visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and a full mass at 11:30 AM. All are welcome to attend. Interment will follow in Madisonville Cemetery No.1.
