Carl Elliot Sandidge's Obituary
Carl Elliot Sandidge, a resident of Abita Springs, Louisiana, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was 66 years old. He was born in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana to Travis Proctor Sandidge and Margaret “Peggy” Lunny Sandidge on August 18, 1956.
He is preceded in death by his father, Travis Proctor Sandidge.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Linda Corbitt Sandidge; mother Margaret “Peggy” Lunny Sandidge; sons Elliot (Jennifer) Sandidge and Grady Sandidge; granddaughter Margaret “Maggie” Sandidge, who was the apple of his eye; siblings Lenore (Don) Anderson and Tom Sandidge; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two cats, Minerva and Albus.
He was a 1974 graduate of O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1978.
Carl loved the Saints and classic rock. He enjoyed live concerts and even became a radio DJ in college. Carl also enjoyed making people laugh, even if his jokes sometimes made you roll your eyes. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather “Papaw”, son, brother, and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Honoring him by serving as pallbearers are Pierre Champagne, Don Davenport, Keith Davis, Howard Kearney, Brandon McGlothlin, and Russell Sandidge. Honorary pallbearers are Don Anderson, Tom Bailey, Tim Bourgeois, Thomas Chelette, Marc Glenn, Murrell Hoffpauir, Cody McGlothlin, Justin Walker, and his AT&T family of 43 years.
Funeral service and visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Mandeville located at 1895 U.S. Hwy 190, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday, November 25, 2022. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm. Service will be held at 2:00pm. Carl will be cremated following the funeral, so there will be no burial service.
If you would like to wear your favorite Saints attire or classic rock band shirt for the service, you are more than welcome.
