Carl Hebert Jenkins' Obituary
Carl H. Jenkins passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009. He was born September 2, 1922 to the late Rusaw and Agnes Fitzmorris Jenkins and has been a life resident of St. Tammany Parish.
The beloved husband of the late Gertrude Mendow Jenkins, he is survived by three daughters: Judy J. Cazaux (Lester), Barbara J. Sharp (Kenzie) and Marsha J. Carter (Wayne); his sister, Clara J. Danenhower; one brother, Harold R. Jenkins; one son-in-law, Richard McCary; nine grandchildren: Joseph Sharp, JoLynne Buckerfield, Jennifer Perilloux, JacLynn Dobraska, Aaron and Travis Sharp, Stephanie Carter, Conner and Logan McCary and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Sandra J. McCary and Carl Keith Jenkins; three sisters: Volyen Jenkins, Camille J. Dennis and Norma J. Metevier.
He worked at the Higgins Ship Yard fabricating the Higgins Boat prior to joining the Marines in 1942. During WWII he was a Marine Raider until his discharge in 1945.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
A wake is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6-9:00 PM with visiting hours beginning Saturday at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.
