Carl James Farris' Obituary
Carl James Farris, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was born on September 18, 1941 in Sanford, FL to Quinton Lester Farris and Elizabeth Roussel.
Carl is survived by his daughter Lisa Peralta and her husband Juan, his daughter Lori Aguilar and her husband Jose, and his son Carl Lester Farris and his husband Randy McCloskey; eight grandchildren Joshua Peralta, Katie Farris, Jessica Aguilar, Dennis Houle, Benjamin Aguilar, Zack Peralta, Courtney Michel, and Sarah Aguilar; and two great-grandchildren Avery Farris and Brooklyn Houle. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Ann Baskin (the late Robert) as well as many cousins, nieces, a nephew, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Leslie Farris Michel, and his beloved puppy Sally Brown.
Carl graduated from Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA. Upon graduation, he attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a short time before going to work full time. Carl was a true jack of all trades; he held various occupations and possessed many talents. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at the Fair Grounds eating corned beef sandwiches. Carl made such an impact on so many, including his neighbors on De Bore Circle in Gentilly Woods and his Boy Scout Troop 87, and he will be dearly missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM with visitation on Monday beginning at 9:15 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum at 11:30 AM.
