Donna and family - I would like to extend my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband and Dad. Gary and I were classmates at KP and I do remember him as a fun loving and caring person.

It was my honor and pleasure to have known Gary for 20+ years at Shell. He was the type of person you wanted to be around. He was always up (not only in height). Vanessa and I are saddened by the loss of Gary. He was such a special person. Everytime I walked into a room, Yourself and Gary would be one of the first people to come over and say hello. I am so sad to learn of gary's passing. We became great friends right at the beginning of our Kings Point careers as we were both on 2nd deck of fifth company when we first got there. I have only great memories of Gary. God bless you all. Chris Johnson Kings Point class of 1979

Donna and Kids and Family – Our family is really sorry to hear about Gary. I got word from my brother, Kenny and Mom. Kenny and Gary were debate partners “back in the day” at Shawnee Mission West. I was a dork sophomore and Gary was a towering senior. When I would run into him on “the bridge” he’d slant his eyes at me, call me “Little Havens”, and would proceed to give me a “Head Noogie". Being that Gary was BMOC, varsity basketball player extraordinaire to boot, this of course elevated my social status, which was always a nice bonus.
In reading the posts, Gary was obviously loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed. To the kids, being that I too unexpectedly lost a Dad, perhaps some things were left unsaid, or not. I can assure you, however, that he loved you very much and is proud of your many accomplishments. A day won’t go by that his presence will guide you to make good decisions. He will always be with you and his legacy will live on though you.

From the short time i knew Mr. Gary, he always had a smile on his face and never seem to look down upon anything. I only wish i had the chance to get to know him more. Rest in peace Mr. Gary knowing that your family will be in good hands from here on out!
